The Canadian Golf Brands Alliance envisions a future where Canadian Golf Brands are the first choice for the entirety of the Canadian golf ecosystem.
Mission Statement
The Canadian Golf Brands Alliance is a collective of Canadian-owned and operated golf brands united to promote, support, and elevate Canadian businesses in the golf industry. Our purpose is to create a strong ‘Buy Canadian’ culture, connecting the over 6 million Canadian golfers with retailers and businesses built in Canada. Through industry collaboration, strategic outreach, and shared resources, we aim to build a sustainable, recognized, and thriving ecosystem that ensures Canadian golf brands flourish.
Guiding Principles
Equity – no one member is better than any other. We are equals in the Alliance.
Respect – like the game we love, our collaboration will be built on a foundation of mutual respect.
Wisdom – there is knowledge and experience across our Alliance, and we will seek to tap into that, value it and nurture it.
Transparency – We may not always agree, but we will act honestly and value the consensus of the Alliance.
By fostering a community built on equity, respect, wisdom, and transparency, we empower members to engage, share knowledge, and grow together. Todd Bishop - CGBA President & Co-Founder Dormie Workshop
Todd Bishop - CGBA President & Co-Founder of Dormie Workshop Todd Bishop is the visionary Founder and President of the Canadian Golf Brand Alliance (CGBA), a collective dedicated to championing Canadian-owned and operated businesses within the golf industry.
As a successful entrepreneur and a respected PGA of Canada Professional, his career reflects a deep commitment to Canadian golf, quality craftsmanship, and brand innovation. The creation of the CGBA is the culmination of Todd Bishop's entrepreneurial drive and passion for supporting local industry. He established the Alliance to foster a "Buy Canadian" movement within the golf community, uniting Canadian brands to promote and educate consumers on the availability of homegrown golf products and services.
Before launching the CGBA, Todd Bishop co-founded Dormie Workshop in 2014 alongside his brother, Jeff Bishop. Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Dormie Workshop quickly became an award-winning creative force and an industry leader, specializing in bespoke, handmade leather golf headcovers and accessories.
Todd Bishop's foundational experience in the golf industry stems from his status as a PGA of Canada Class "A" Owner/Operator. His deep understanding of the golf business, coupled with a background in the ski industry, provided the perfect blend of entrepreneurial spirit and industry knowledge to launch his ventures. His professional expertise has been instrumental in growing his businesses from grassroots ideas into major players in the international golf marketplace.
As a leader, innovator, and advocate for Canadian businesses, Todd Bishop continues to drive the mission of the Canadian Golf Brand Alliance, ensuring that Canadian golf brands have the platform and support needed to thrive.

Mike Johnny - CGBA Vice-President
Mike is the President and Founder of the 36 A Day Golf Co. Established in 2022, this company was created to provide quality golf hats and apparel which offer a respectful and fun fusion of the Canadian Maple Leaf and a dimpled golf ball.
This company also has a social mission, providing products at cost to recognized junior golf programs across Canada. 36 A Day was developed after a successful golf blog which focused on public golf in Canada.
The 36 A Day golf blog has been recognized as a Top 100 Golf Blog in the World.
Outside of business and blog interests, Mike works at York University in a Research Partnerships role, is a happy dog owner, always aims to perfect the late day nine hole loop, and fights the uphill battle to get to a single digit index.
